The Derby Stallion
Patrick McCardle is a quiet fifteen year old that has never quite been able to fit in, especially not with his athletic, sports enthusiast father, who forces the boy to play football, baseball, and the like. The only time Patrick feels comfortable is when he visits his best friend Mr. Jones, a kindly old black man with taste for wine and gambling.
Patrick leaves Mr. Jones’ rundown farm one evening and his life changes. He meets two spirited city newcomers, Jill and Chuck. Together the three embark on a journey of their lives when Mr. Jones unveils a special surprise and challenge: an injured former race horse.
