Keeping up with the Kaimanawas
Meet Northland’s Wilson sisters - Amanda, Kelly and Vicki - who live and breathe horses. They ride them, train them and show them, whether they are domesticated or wild.
In this new local reality series Keeping up with the Kaimanawas, we follow these fearless and inspiring women, who have been invited as three of only fifteen trainers to compete at the first ever national Wild Stallion Challenges. Saving these wild horses from slaughter was just the first step. Now the sisters have just 150 days to tame and train their charges for the inaugural event.
There will be casualties on both sides – savage bites, aggressive charging, dramatic falls and life and death decisions with no guarantee of success. But the name of the game is to have their horses ready in time for the challenge and to prove to everyone that these horses are worth saving.
Join Amanda, Kelly and Vicki as they go on their wildest ride yet, saving New Zealand’s Kaimanawa horses.
